I found this darling little planter years ago at an antiques store in Carlisle, PA and brought it home as a surprise for Miss Cozy, who initially kept her tooth fairy money in it!
But from time to time this little belle gets
a Cozy Home makeover :)
As she's used in Miss Cozy's bluebird bedroom, which is decorated in Cath Kidston's color scheme, I chose red and pink carnations to "plant".
Floral foam is wonderful to work with -- you can cut it to size and just poke the flowers right in. It's fun.
The planter had an awkward-shaped cavity, so I used two pieces, wedged tightly together and drenched in water for an hour. The foam soaked most of it up.
Next, I cut the carnations to size and, alternating colors, simply poked them in!
The finished result was sweet, pretty and lasted AGES...thanks to the self-watering foam.
The perfect shades of vintage pink & blue...
...to brighten Miss Cozy's bedroom.
Something pretty to enjoy at her bedside
to let her know her mom is thinking of her :)
