Retro Travel Exhibit at the Smithsonian

The Smithsonian's Air & Space Museum has this fantastic exhibit in place -- a review of air travel's "golden age."  I thought you'd like to come along for a look at these nostalgic images...

A sample meal ... and real silverware!

Air hostess uniforms from the various airlines of the day...

  1. I think the airlines should return to the services they once provided!

  3. Dear Mrs. Cozy Home,
I think you are my twin separated at birth!! First you captured my imagination with the dressing table posts, now this airline thing! As a child I flew Northwest Airlines 4x a year by myself between my parents homes. The lovely stewardess were my angels. They were always kind and beautiful. One in particular remains my heroine as she brought a box of tissues when my cotton gloves could no longer hold my tears. Thanks for the memories. Continue your good work. V

  4. I am all "On Board" with you in the vintage travel department. I'm from the era when you dressed to go on an airplane, it's so sad this is not still the way. I enjoyed the "look" of the Pan Am show so much, and my husband made me scrounge about for our vintage Pan Am bag. Thank you so much for this fun post! I will have to visit this display soon!
